Drug smuggling attempt thwarted at Jeddah port.

Saudi Customs authorities thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of amphetamine pills into the Kingdom.

Customs officers display amphetamine pills seized at the Jeddah port in the latest drug haul in the country.

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) said in a press statement that its officials at Jeddah port found 888,000 banned pills hidden in barrels of paste.

ZATCA said it was continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports, and was confronting drug smugglers in order to protect society from the scourge.

It called on everyone to contribute to the fight against smuggling by contacting 1910 for security reports or via e-mail (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or the international number (00966114208417).
